Prompt
[Note: the creator shared a partial prompt. Wording below is theirs.]
GOAL:
Create an animated SVG: a cutaway cross-section of a toilet and its tank, showing exactly how a flush works, with a little cartoon person who presses the handle and watches it happen.
MOTION:
THE CONCEPT
A clean, fun, educational cutaway animation, like a premium "how it works" explainer. The viewer sees the inside of a ceramic toilet (tank and bowl) cut open, with clean water only. A little cartoon person walks into frame, presses the flush handle, and the whole mechanism comes alive in the correct order. The mechanics must be accurate.
THE MECHANISM (show every step, in order)
1. The handle is pressed and the lever lifts the chain.
2. The chain pulls up the flapper (rubber valve) at the bottom of the tank.
3. The tank water rushes down through the flush valve into the bowl, with visible flow, swirls and bubbles.
4. The bowl water level rises fast and fills the curved siphon trap, which starts a siphon.
5. The siphon pulls the water out through the trap into the drain pipe with a loud gurgle, and the bowl empties down to a low level.
6. The tank is empty, the flapper drops back and seals, and the float ball sinks, which opens the fill valve.
7. Fresh water flows in from the supply pipe, the float rises with the water level, and the fill valve shuts off when the tank is full.
8. The bowl refills to its normal level through the refill tube and everything is calm again.
Show moving water levels, small labels are NOT needed, but the parts must be clearly recognizable: handle, lever, chain, flapper, float, fill valve, overflow tube, bowl, siphon trap, drain.
THE LITTLE PERSON
An original cartoon character with a clear personality (for example a small, proud, slightly smug homeowner or plumber in overalls). He walks in, pauses, presses the handle with a dramatic gesture, then watches the show with different reactions: curiosity, awe at the swirl, a satisfied nod when the tank refills. Add a funny small gag of your own (for example he gets startled by the gurgle, or gives a thumbs up to the toilet). Keep everything clean and family-friendly: no waste, only clean water.
THE ANIMATION
Smooth, polished cartoon-quality motion with squash and stretch, anticipation and follow-through. Water behaves believably: accelerating, swirling, sloshing, settling. Subtle secondary motion everywhere (bubbles, ripples, dripping, a swaying chain). One seamless loop of about 12 seconds that ends in the same state it started.
COLOR AND VIBE
A strong, cohesive color scheme with a clear mood. Choose it yourself and stick to it: a limited palette, soft gradients, gentle shadows, clean technical-illustration look with a playful twist.
THE BACKGROUND
A tidy, detailed and atmospheric bathroom with depth (tiles, a window, a plant, a towel, a small poster, a rubber duck, a toilet paper holder). Choose the setting and mood yourself. It must support the cutaway and never compete with it.
REQUIREMENTS
- Everything is SVG (with CSS and/or SMIL animation, or a small amount of
